Opera Performance - St. Jerome Parish, NY

The Cast and Orchestra

True to our charism, the “evangelization of the culture, by which nothing genuinely human is alien to us in the work of prolonging the Incarnation to all reality" and “no human activity is foreign to the Gospel,”[1]on November 18th, 2011 Saint Jerome Parish, Bronx, NY was glad to host an opera concert in its newly renovated Saint Jerome Hall.

La Serva Padrona

After several weeks of hard work to remodel the old parish convent, Saint Jerome Hall was inaugurated with the presentation of the opera buffa, La Serva Padrona by G. Pergolessi. The opera was performed by the Apollo Opera Company founded by composer and artistic director George Tsouris and musical director Ramon Catalan.

The Orchestra

A large audience came to this gala night and was delighted by the performance of Stephan Antonio Ortiz, as Uberto, Charlotte Barnett, as Serpina, Rishi Arya, as Vespino, and the exceptionally fine music of the Classics Chamber Orchestra.
