The 9th Annual Our Lady of Peace Summer Oratory

Everybody has fun at the Oratory

This year's summer oratory was attended by nearly 500 children and youth from ages 5 to 15.

Daily Mass

The activities took place over the course of three weeks, beginning July 5th and finishing July 22, 2011. As has happened in previous years, those who attended the oratory were divided into six different teams named after a patron saint. This year’s patrons were Bl. John Paul II, Bl. Mother Teresa, St. Peter, St. Paul, St. Maria Goretti, and St. Therese of the Child Jesus.

As part of the daily schedule, the younger participants attended bible classes focusing on the Book of Genesis, while the older kids studied the Acts of the Apostles. Each of four age groups followed similar routines essentially composed of spiritual reading and classes, as well as time for games, songs, prayers, and the Holy Mass. To aid the permanent community at Our Lady of Peace in undertaking this iSt. Paul's Team's flagmportant apostolate, Fr. Gustavo Domenech, Dcn. Juan Pablo Domínguez, a group of seminarians, and sisters traveled from Washington, D.C. We continue to pray for the fruits of this work and thank all of the parishioners and volunteers who made it possible and successful. May God be praised.
