St. Jerome’s parish in the Bronx borough of New York celebrated the feast day of Our Lady of Guadalupe with great fervor. Many people were present at the festivity which began the night before with Mass, Vespers(evening prayer), and followed by dancing.
The celebration was picked up at 3:30 the next morning for the traditional Mañanitas where the people ‘wake up’ the Virgin with songs. There was a mariachi band as well as rancheras with a pipe band.
Throughout the day there were many Masses which were attended by around 4000 people in total. You can see the busy schedule for the feast below.
May Our Lady of Guadalupe continue to watch over and intercede for St. Jerome’s parish before the throne of the Most High God.
